A mummy who may or may not have partied too hard last night…
This is poster #2 from a 3 part series in honor of the month of October.
I started with a basic sketch that I did in Illustrator, and just went back over everything with the pen tool to get my shapes in place for coloring later.
Here’s a peek at how I typically work in Illustrator. I’m trying to get better about naming certain shapes and paths, so that adding future textures in Photoshop is a breeze. The better I am about initial naming conventions, the more fluid and effortless the rest of the design process will be.
Along with building the shapes, I spent time on the color scheme. Making subtle yet drastic changes to each color, in a way that envokes the right “Halloween” feel to the viewer.
“That green & purple just don’t look slime-y enough, make em ooze.”
Progress pics during the various iterations the design would go through.
A pic of inspiration in both terms of color, and style.
Classic.
